Correction Policy

The Journal of Electrochemical Science and Hydrogen Technology (JESHT) is committed to maintaining an accurate, transparent, and reliable scholarly record. When errors are identified in a published article, the journal will assess the nature and significance of the error and, where appropriate, publish a correction or other editorial notice.

Purpose of Corrections

Corrections are intended to address errors that affect the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of the published record but do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions of the article.

Corrections may relate to, for example:

  • Author names, affiliations, or other bibliographic information.

  • Errors in figures, tables, equations, or captions.

  • Typographical or formatting errors that affect interpretation.

  • Incorrect or incomplete references.

  • Errors in data or methodological descriptions that can be corrected without invalidating the research.

  • Other factual or editorial errors identified after publication.

Requesting a Correction

Authors who discover a significant error in their published article should contact the journal's editorial office as soon as possible. Correction requests should clearly identify:

  1. The article title and publication information.

  2. The specific error or errors.

  3. The location of the error in the published article.

  4. The proposed correction.

  5. Any supporting information necessary for the editorial assessment.

Readers and other researchers may also notify the editorial office about potential errors in published articles.

Editorial Assessment

The editorial team will assess the reported error and may consult the authors, reviewers, editors, or other subject experts when necessary.

The journal will determine whether the issue requires a correction, clarification, retraction, or no change to the published record. Editorial decisions are based on the significance and reliability of the available evidence.

Publication of Corrections

When a correction is warranted, JESHT will publish a formal correction notice linked to the original article. The notice will describe the nature of the correction and identify the affected part of the article.

Where technically possible, the original article will remain accessible and the correction notice will be clearly associated with it. Changes to the published record will be made transparently rather than concealing the existence of the original error.

Author Changes

Requests to add, remove, or change the order of authors after publication are considered separately from ordinary corrections. Such changes require an appropriate justification and confirmation from all relevant authors and may require institutional verification where necessary.

Corrections to DOI and Metadata

If an error affects the article's bibliographic metadata, including the title, author information, affiliation, DOI metadata, or other indexing information, the journal will make reasonable efforts to update the relevant records and notify appropriate registration or indexing services where applicable.

Retractions

A correction is not appropriate when an error or misconduct substantially undermines the reliability of an article's findings or conclusions. In such cases, JESHT may consider retraction in accordance with recognized publication-ethics principles.

Retractions will be clearly identified and linked to the original publication so that the scholarly record remains transparent.

Post-Publication Integrity

JESHT considers corrections an important part of responsible scholarly publishing. The journal encourages authors and readers to report significant errors promptly so that the published record can be kept as accurate, transparent, and reliable as possible.
