Plagiarism Policy
1. Commitment to Originality
The Open Access Research and Innovation Journal is committed to publishing original, high-quality research. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and considered a serious violation of publication ethics.
2. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, ideas, images, or data from another source without proper attribution
- Submitting another author’s work as one’s own
- Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without citation
- Self-plagiarism (reusing significant portions of previously published work without acknowledgment)
- Duplicate submission or redundant publication
3. Similarity Threshold
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools. The journal generally accepts manuscripts with a similarity index of up to 15–20%, excluding references and properly cited material. However, final acceptance depends on editorial evaluation.
4. Plagiarism Detection Process
The journal follows a strict checking procedure:
- Initial manuscript screening using plagiarism detection software
- Editorial assessment of similarity reports
- Identification of improper citations or uncited content
- Author notification for revision or clarification if required
5. Author Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is completely original
- Proper citations are provided for all borrowed ideas and text
- Permission is obtained for copyrighted material (tables, figures, images)
- All sources are accurately referenced
6. Actions Against Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage, the journal may:
- Reject the manuscript immediately before publication
- Request revision and correction from authors
- Retract published articles in serious cases
- Report unethical practices to affiliated institutions if necessary
7. Self-Plagiarism Policy
Authors must not submit previously published work or large portions of it without proper citation. Reuse of one's own work must be:
- Clearly disclosed
- Properly referenced
- Limited to acceptable academic reuse
8. Editorial Responsibility
Editors ensure that all manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening and that appropriate action is taken when ethical violations are identified.
9. Retraction Policy
Published articles found to contain significant plagiarism may be retracted with a formal notice to maintain academic integrity and transparency.
10. Policy Updates
This Plagiarism Policy may be updated periodically to align with international publishing standards and COPE guidelines.
