Correction Policy
1. Commitment to Accuracy
The Open Access Research and Innovation Journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal ensures that all published content reflects reliable and high-quality research. When errors are identified, the journal takes prompt action to correct the record.
2. Types of Post-Publication Changes
The journal may publish corrections in the form of:
- Erratum: Issued when the publisher is responsible for an error (e.g., formatting, typographical, or production mistakes)
- Corrigendum: Issued when authors identify and correct errors in their published work
- Addendum: Issued when additional information is required to clarify or expand the published article
3. Criteria for Corrections
Corrections are issued when errors:
- Affect the interpretation of data or results
- Mislead readers or impact scientific understanding
- Involve incorrect author details or affiliations
- Contain significant typographical or formatting issues affecting meaning
Minor typographical errors that do not affect understanding may not require formal correction.
4. Correction Process
When an error is identified:
- The issue is reported to the editorial office
- The editorial team reviews the nature and severity of the error
- Authors are contacted for verification (if applicable)
- A formal correction notice is prepared and published
- The original article is linked with the correction notice for transparency
5. Transparency and Visibility
All corrections are:
- Clearly labeled and published in a separate notice
- Linked directly to the original article
- Freely accessible to all readers
- Indexed where applicable to maintain academic record integrity
6. Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for:
- Promptly notifying the journal if they discover errors in their published work
- Cooperating with editorial staff during the correction process
- Ensuring accuracy of revised content
7. Editorial Responsibilities
The editorial team ensures that:
- Corrections are handled fairly and consistently
- The integrity of the scholarly record is maintained
- All updates are documented transparently
8. Version Control
Where applicable, the journal may update the online version of the article while maintaining a record of:
- Original published version
- Corrected version
- Date of correction
9. Retraction vs. Correction
If errors are severe enough to invalidate findings or involve ethical misconduct, the journal may issue a retraction instead of a correction. Corrections are used only when the core scientific validity remains intact.
10. Policy Updates
This Correction Policy may be updated periodically to align with COPE guidelines and international publishing best practices.
