Archiving Policy

The Journal of V2X Vehicular Communications and Systems is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of all published scholarly content. The journal adopts internationally recognized digital preservation and archiving practices to safeguard research articles, reviews, conference papers, and supplementary materials against data loss, technical failure, or unforeseen disruptions.

To support permanent accessibility and digital preservation, the journal utilizes reliable archiving systems and repository technologies that maintain the integrity and availability of published content for future researchers, institutions, and academic communities worldwide.

LOCKSS Archiving System

The journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) archiving system to create a distributed preservation network among participating libraries and institutions. LOCKSS is an open-source digital preservation initiative developed by Stanford University Library that continuously collects, validates, and preserves scholarly content. This system ensures that journal articles remain permanently accessible even in cases of server failure, website downtime, or accidental data loss.

CLOCKSS Digital Preservation

The journal also supports CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a globally recognized long-term digital preservation initiative operated through a collaboration between academic publishers and research libraries. CLOCKSS maintains secure archival copies of scholarly content in geographically distributed repositories to ensure the survival and integrity of academic publications. In the event that journal content becomes unavailable, CLOCKSS can restore and provide permanent open access to archived materials.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The journal integrates with the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to provide additional decentralized preservation and backup services. PKP PN enables automatic archiving of journal content and ensures continued accessibility through distributed preservation infrastructure.

Institutional and Repository Archiving

Published articles may also be archived and indexed in:

  • Institutional repositories

  • University libraries

  • Academic databases

  • National and international digital archives

  • Author personal websites and research profiles

Authors are permitted to self-archive the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, academic social networks, and personal websites while properly acknowledging the journal as the original source of publication.

DOI and Persistent Accessibility

Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent citation, discoverability, and permanent online accessibility. DOI registration supports stable linking and long-term scholarly referencing across digital platforms.

Backup and Security Measures

To maintain content security and integrity, the journal performs regular system backups and implements technical safeguards, including:

  • Routine database backups

  • Secure cloud and server storage

  • Redundant preservation systems

  • Website monitoring and recovery protocols

  • Protection against unauthorized access and data corruption

These measures help ensure uninterrupted access to scholarly content and protect the academic record of the journal.

Long-Term Commitment

The Journal of V2X Vehicular Communications and Systems is dedicated to preserving scholarly research for future generations by following international digital archiving standards and sustainable preservation practices. The journal continuously reviews and improves its archiving policies to align with advancements in digital publishing technologies and open-access preservation frameworks.
